Moving day

Well we are finally moved into our new house.  Now it is just a matter of finding everything and finding places to put it.  I would put up some pictures, but seriously have no idea where the camera is!  We feel a little crazy as we have no fridge yet, it was ordered but may not be here until next week.  There are no blinds, so we sort of hung up some blankets and sheets in the bedroom windows so people can't see us, and we still have no couch.  We keep going back and forth if we should buy one or just sort of make do until something comes up, like a garage sale bargain or such.  We also don't have cable, internet or phone up yet so I feel a little separated from the world.  But.... we have a house people!!  Yes, I don't care about all the craziness because I know it will all come together eventually and it is our home!  I just love looking out the window at my street and my neighborhood and thinking yay, this is my place.  :)  Last night was our first night sleeping there.  We put out a blanket in the living room and all curled up and watched a movie.  Audrey thinks the whole thing is such a fun adventure!  Ava didn't sleep too well, but there is no surprise there.  Overall things are going well and we are happy!

quilt!

I have started making a quilt for our bed with Lynette's help (lots of help!!) and Audrey wanted to do something similar.  So she made this quilt for my bed.  She REALLY wanted to tape the whole thing together and have us sleep in it at night and it took lots of persuading and convincing to have her clean it up.  But I thought it was really cute!

Tough Guy

Nate likes to act tough but the reality is both girls have him wrapped around their fingers

Disney On Ice

A couple months back I won tickets to go to Disney on Ice in Salt Lake.  They were doing Toy Story 3, which we were not super familiar with, but after watching the movie a few times we were excited to go!  We decided to leave Nate and Ava home since Ava would probably not make it on such a long day, and so we took Erica and her little girl Aidan.  Audrey and Aidan had a blast, it was definitely a good time!

And of course Audrey's favorite part was anything with Barbie.  That and the "bad parts" meaning the scary parts.

Party Time

Audrey had her fifth birthday party last Saturday, and I'd like to say we all had so much fun, but I'm really not so sure that is the case.  We tried to keep things pretty simple.  There was a fun cake, five friends, and a few decorations.  Audrey really wanted a Rapunzel party and so I did my best to keep everything following a Tangled theme.  I wasn't about to attempt a huge tower cake, so I made a princess castle cake and told her it was Rapunzel's castle, and she LOVED it so much.  I love that she loves and gets so excited about things like that, especially when it was far from perfect, she was in total heaven!  We put a Rapunzel braid coming from the front door so it looked like her hair which all the girls thought was fun.  Then they colored some pictures and watched the movie until everyone was here.

We then started off with cake so the girls would go home still hungry for their dinner.  They all loved the cake but that is when things got a little crazy. After they were done they got a little hyper and started running around and being silly.  Audrey was just a little too excited for everything and got a little carried away.  She tripped and fell really hard on the corner of a chair right on her mouth.  I'm not going to lie, there was lots of blood.  And tears.  Nate immediately took her into the bathroom to check things out while I tried to keep things going.  The girls were a little nervous though and probably did not have as much fun as they would have if that had not happened.  Audrey came out and watched while the rest of us played pin the nose on flynn rider and princess duck duck goose.  Then she opened her presents, the girls played a bit longer and everyone went home.  I am sure this is a birthday Audrey will never forget!

It's been a week and Audrey's lip has gotten much better, but she does have a tooth that was pushed back a bit.  I don't think I will take her in, but just keep an eye on it.  This is a picture 2 days after she fell.  I didn't get any that day because I wasn't thinking of things like that.

Shots!!

Oh wow!  That is really all I can say right now about our experience doing immunizations on Tuesday.  Audrey was due for her kindergarten shots and check up and Ava has been a little behind with her immunizations so we tried to catch her up and have a check up at the same time.  I figured that Ava would probably be a little challenging, but I would have Audrey to help out and she always does such a good job.  I was totally wrong!  Audrey was very nervous for her shots but I told her we would go out for ice cream after and it would be just fine.  After having her urine tested, her vision checked and being weighed she was feeling pretty good about things.  Then the nurse pricked her finger without any warning took some blood and wow, there were lots of tears!!  She cried for quite a while, and it was loud crying, which of course made Ava cry and we were just having such a fun time.  Haha.  I just did not have the heart to tell Audrey that that was not her shots, those were still coming.  So the doctor checked up on her and Ava, and they are both doing very well.  They are both inthe 40th percentile for both weight and height.  I was surprised because Audrey is usually on the smaller end for weight and Ava has always been much higher, but I guess they are both evening out.  Too bad Ava is still in the 90th percentile for her head.  Oh well, she'll grow into it right?  Good thing she is just so cute!  Anyways, when the nurse came back in I had to finally tell Audrey that she still had to have her shots and that started the crying all over again.  The poor girl was pretty much scared to death!  So she sat up on the table and I had to hold her legs still with my legs, hold both of her hands together with my hands, and hold Ava still on my hip.  One nurse is telling me to hold tighter to her arms, and the other one is telling me hold tighter to Ava so she doesn't get in the way, meanwhile of course both girls are screaming bloody murder, and I couldn't help but laugh because the situation was so humorous.  Not to say I did not feel sympathy for Audrey, because I know getting shots are no fun, but seriously she is so dramatic.  I have never had problems with her getting shots before, she is always great, but it is all in her head, and if she gets something in her head then there is no changing the way she feels about it.  Ava had her shots next and did much better, even with Audrey continuing to scream her head off.  I am sure she scared every child that was there in that doctors office, and I am sure they could all hear her.  We finally got dressed and were able to leave.  I just wanted to get out of there, but Audrey insisted on continuing the dramatics all the way to the car.  She limped along and took tiny little baby steps and the tears continued to flow.  We were able to meet Nate at Wendy's for lunch where she had ice cream before her meal and that seemed to make everything better!  However, it is now Thursday and there is one remaining band-aid left on her arm which no one is allowed to touch and I pray that it comes off soon because while it remains it continues to bring back painful memories for Audrey and we all have to relive that terrible experience all over again!
